New Beer Releases in Indiana – January 14, 2010

I hope to have a list later today of beers that will be in the “Malt Shoppe” feature at the Brewers of Indiana Guild Winter Fest (January 30th). I’ll post it when I have it, but expect some big beers; probably 20 or so of them! I can verify that Tyranena Brewing will be at the Winter Fest. Having visited their brewery in Lake Mills, WI, I can tell you be glad they came!

FYI Expect tickets to sell out in advance for the Winter Fest and for there to be no tickets at the door. Get your tickets online here or buy them at your favorite local brewery.

Boulevard Brewery: Tank 7 Saison is now in Indiana. It’s a higher alcohol version of their Saison and will replace the older version. 750ml bottles.

Bell’s Brewery: Word is starting to get out – Bell’s Batch 9000 will be coming to Indiana around the second week of February. It’s a big beer and took a while to fully ferment, but it’s getting close. Hopslam is out and about in cases and kegs right now.

Brugge Brasserie: There are a limited number of Thunder Monkey kegs available to ship to Indiana bars and restaurants. They’ll go fast – so ask at your favorite place if they don’t have it already.

Flying Dog Brewery: Raging Bitch IPA is now in Indiana. It’s a Belgian style IPA that I was fortunate enough to sample at GABF last year. Very tasty and complex. 12 oz bottle six packs.

Hair of the Dog Brewery: We got to visit this brewery in Portland, OR last week and… wow! The beers are amazing. They’re a very small place and we’ll never be able to get much of their beer, but we hope to secure one more pallet of beer from them in the next month. Specific beers TBD.

Rogue Brewing: Rogue will be shipping Old Crustacean, I2PA and Russian Imperial Stout in 7 ounce bottles from now on and we should be seeing those in Indiana soon. This is a very nice change from the larger, much more expensive 750 ml ceramic bottles. Also, there is a little bit of Rogue’s new Chatoe Rogue Dirtoir Black Lager on the way. Had some of that in Newport, OR last week at the brewery and it is delicious.

Victory Brewing: Yakima Twilight has arrived in Indiana. It’s yet another hop feature from Victory that makes use of whole cone hops from the Yakima Valley.
